I don’t, as a rule, do book reviews on books from people I know, and I’m not really going to do it this time, either. But I can’t sit by and not make a mention about Blue Glass by friend and author Sandra Tyler.

I want to introduce everyone to Leslie, a preteen who finds herself at a crossroads with herself and her family, and the changes both go through. Some for the better, some for the worse. We follow Leslie through the breakdown of her family, her questions about a higher being, and her curiosity about the things she’s not experienced.

Blue GlassSandra writes a smooth, effortless story, which seamlessly moves from year to year until Leslie meets her new college roommate. Throughout the book I felt anger, desire, confusion, and at times, an odd sense of complacency regardless of how things changed in Leslie’s world. I found myself choked-up at times and lonely, desperately lonely, at other times.

When I finished the book, not only did I feel a connection with a young female character, but I left with the feeling I knew just a little bit more about Sandra as well.

Blue Glass is a book I simply couldn’t put down. Regardless of the genre you enjoy the most, be it horror, romance, comedy, or science fiction, this is a book that should be on your to-read list and soon.

You can find Blue Glass in paperback at both Barnes and Noble and on Amazon. You can also purchase the Kindle version on Amazon.

Sandra Tyler is also the author of After Lydia, and the editor-in-chief of The Woven Tale Press. Her blog is awriterweavesatale.com
